Post rápido: Un vistazo a Gnome 2.14
Ahí os dejo las novedades que incluirá la próxima versión de Gnome, lo más interesante, mejoras generales en agilidad del escritorio, las fuentes se renderizan más rápido y un nuevo control de memoria llamado GSlice que promete ser mas veloz que GMemChunk y Malloc, tendremos que esperar menos para que se cargue la ventana del terminal y algunas otras cosas respecto a perfiles de usuario, calendario... etc.
Tiene buena pinta.

Me encanta Gnome. En cuanto salgan los binarios para ubuntu, me pongo la 2.14
Creo que tienes la beta disponible en los repositorios de la versión alpha de Ubuntu Dapper. Yo aún no he migrado, prefiero esperar a la release, pero para el que quiera hacerlo antes:
